The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Bali
Bali has weddings year round, but the time of year you choose changes the weather, the prices and the way the day feels. Here is what to know before you set a date.
The two seasons
Dry season (April to October)
Lower humidity, blue skies and minimal rain. The most popular time for weddings, especially May, June, July and September. Expect higher prices, busier venues and book out vendors.
Wet season (November to March)
Higher humidity, hotter, with daily afternoon showers. Lush green landscapes and dramatic light. Lower prices and easier vendor access.
The sweet spots
May and September are arguably the best months. The weather is reliable, the crowds are slightly thinner than mid winter, and the light is beautiful. April and October are also excellent if you want strong dry season weather without paying full peak prices.
When to avoid
December and January bring the heaviest rain. Some venues, especially garden and jungle ones, can become unpredictable. February has Chinese New Year which spikes accommodation prices. March is often humid right up until the season changes.
What about peak prices
Venues and vendors raise rates in peak months, particularly July and August. If your dates are flexible, shifting to a shoulder month can save you significantly without compromising the experience.
Plan for the unexpected
Even in the dry season, the occasional shower happens. Always have a wet weather plan for your ceremony. The best venues already do.
How guest dates affect your call
Australian school holidays and long weekends are easier for guests with kids. Mid year suits couples whose guests want to escape an Australian winter. Talk to your key people before locking in.
